How to correct an error in block generation?

Silly me, in a rush to try out a simple node blockchain, I omitted a vital element of a node's name, as in "eosio" in the following command below:
so, instead of
./nodeos -e -p eosio --plugin eosio:chain_api_plugin --plugin eosio::history_api_plugin
I issued the following command:
./nodeos -e -p --plugin eosio:chain_api_plugin --plugin eosio::history_api_plugin

now see the following screenshot of the mess that I made

after reboot, I typed the command correctly, however, the problem persists.
Trying another option of using the --data-dir to point the new block to a new folder also failed.

What else can we do?
